First, let me ask you some questions. Are you hungry? Hungry for spicy, flavorful, colorful foods? Yes? Okay, good. Now, are you thirsty? Thirsty for made-to-order margaritas of various flavors? Still yes?
Then Ofrenda is your happy hour answer! This adorable gem in the West Village is the stop for cheap eats and affordable margaritas. From its outside appearance, you expect nothing. Walk too fast, and you might miss it. But once you step through those doors, you'll never want to leave. With perfect-for-two, candle-lit tables scattered around, cozy ceilings, and adorable vintage shelves hung on the rustic-looking wall, it's a prime getaway date spot. And that's just the scenery...
In my opinion, any restaurant that serves $8 guacamole during happy hour is a winner. No - a champion. That, plus $7 margaritas and a DAILY happy hour makes Ofrenda a record holder in my happy hour book. Our experience here was phenomenal. Overall, we didn't order too much (two margaritas and one beer, plus fish tacos, shrimp ceviche tostadas, and chips and salsa). But out of all this, came a $53 check after tip, which floored me. You hardly come across stuff like this in New York City!
I know I said Ofrenda is a champion, but really it is a godsend.
